3. Rangers @ Twins — Aug. 24-27

The Rangers can send a message to the rest of the American League depending on how their four-game series with the Minnesota Twins goes at the end of the month.

It might not be a divisional battle, but it's still crucial nevertheless. The Twins currently lead the AL Central, making them a solid benchmark test to see how Texas stacks up against other division leaders.

The series being played in Minnesota also adds another edge. The Twins have been solid for the most part at home with a 30-24 record at Target Field, whereas the Rangers are just average on the road with their 26-26 away record.

Emerging victorious from this series would prove that Texas doesn't need a home-field advantage to produce results.

Furthermore, the upcoming clash is a potential playoff matchup. As long as neither side completely goes off the rails, both teams should be playoff-bound. Success at Target Field could give Texas the edge come playoff time, regardless of the round.

Handling the Twins this month is something the Rangers must do, especially less than a week before they meet again at Globe Life Field.
