3 Playmakers the Cowboys Should Draft for Dak Prescott

The 2024 NFL season is a big one for the Dallas Cowboys. To finally end their Super Bowl drought, they must target these three playmakers in this month's draft.

3. WR Troy Franklin, Oregon

Another playmaker that I love for the Cowboys is Oregon WR Troy Franklin, who'd make for a massive upgrade over the departed Gallup.

When the Ducks needed a big play in 2023, Franklin didn't hesitate to step up. The East Palo Alto, CA native finished his third collegiate season with an impressive state line of 81 receptions, 1,383 yards, and 14 touchdown catches. It was also the second consecutive campaign that he led the Pac-12 in TDs, amassing a total of 23 over the last two years.

There's plenty to love about Franklin outside of his promising statistics. He has a great starting frame (6-foot-2, 176 pounds) and knows how to use his speed (4.41-second 40-yard dash) to beat opposing cornerbacks. He can also play outside or inside of the slate, opening the door for how head coach Mike McCarthy plans to use him.

Franklin knows how to score wherever he's lined up, making him the type of playmaker the Cowboys need. After all, Dallas was only 3-4 (42.9%) when Lamb was held out of the end zone last season compared to a 9-1 record when their No. 1 wideout found pay dirt. At least if Lamb is shut down going forward, Franklin has more than enough talent to step up.

With two legitimate WR1s on the roster, the sky would be the limit for the Cowboys next season.
