2. Terrace Marshall, wide receiver

One of the positions teams will always be looking to take flyers on players is wide receiver. The Dallas Cowboys have a pretty good-looking group on paper with CeeDee Lamb obviously commanding the most attention (and money) along with veteran Brandin Cooks.

But there is a lot of faith projection happening with the other guys at this position group. Nobody knows what Jalen Tolbert and Jalen Brooks are going to bring when the regular season comes around. Rookie Ryan Flournoy is another wild card option who has plenty of talent and showed some nice things throughout the preseason, but he's a rookie and will be learning on the go.

A player like Terrace Marshall Jr., a former second-round pick out of LSU who was recently cut by the Carolina Panthers, could end up being one of the most interesting dart throw options available. FanSided's Cat Crave outlined why Marshall was on the chopping block in the first place:

"While it's surprising to most from the outside looking in that Marshall is being touted for a trade, those who've watched his progress over the last three seasons won't be shocked. The former second-round selection always flashes when the summer arrives. He's stood out at training camp every year since he entered the league. Unfortunately, this never amounts to anything of substance during the regular season.

Marshall promises much and delivers very little. The LSU product has brought in 64 receptions from 110 targets for 767 receiving yards and one touchdown in three seasons. He was anonymous last time around and had his trade request granted by the previous decision-makers. Perhaps with another outstanding preparation period and some impressive preseason efforts thrown in for good measure, a willing suitor can be found."

Marshall's combination of size and athletic traits make him the perfect low-risk, high-reward option for a team like Dallas which has very little certainty at the future of the receiver position currently on the roster. That could change in the coming weeks and we could see players break out, but he would be a worthwhile addition to this team, especially if the Cowboys can get him on the practice squad initially.
