2. Brevyn Spann-Ford, TE

With the Cowboys known to carry a handful of tight ends throughout the year, Brevyn Spann-Ford has as good of a shot as any rookie to make the 53-man roster. The 24-year-old pass-catcher joined the franchise as an undrafted free agent following April's draft.

There's room for Spann-Ford to impact an impact after Peyton Hendershot failed to deliver in 2023. The ex-Indiana Hoosier was only targeted seven times in eight games, hauling in four catches for 38 yards without a touchdown. He also carried a 72.3 passer rating when targeted, which was noticeably down from Prescott's season-long mark of 105.9.

Meanwhile, Spann-Ford is an intriguing prospect who stands at 6-foot-7 and weighs 270 pounds. He was used in more of a blocking roll during his time at Minnesota however, he showed some offensive upside with 95 catches for 1,061 yards and seven touchdowns across six seasons.

Spann-Ford won't steal any of the limelight from TE1 Jake Ferguson, but it's easy to see why the rookie might have the edge over Hendershot in camp. Hell, you could even argue that BSF could even beat Luke Schoonmaker for the TE2 spot given that the former 2023 second-rounder only had caught 8-of-15 targets (53.3%) for 65 yards and two TDs as a rookie.

If Spann-Ford lives up to the post-draft hype, HC McCarthy's decision regarding the rookie tight end will be harder to make.
