3 Underrated Cowboys Who Have Earned Contract Extensions
3. Osa Odighizuwa
Osa Odighizuwa is another guy who won't be a free agent until 2025, but the list of Cowboys whose contracts are expiring that offseason is a long one, so it would be wise to get out ahead on some of those extensions now.
And for Odighizuwa, that could also save Jerry Jones a little money.
Odighizuwa showed some promise in 2022, his second pro season, but 2023 was really his breakout year.
His run defense isn't exactly elite for an interior defensive lineman, but being simply "solid" on that front in 2023 represented a huge improvement in what was clearly his biggest weakness early in his career. And he's a good enough pass-rusher that "solid" is something you'll happily take on the run-stuffing front.
His stats didn't necessarily show those improvements, with 3.0 sacks and 9 TFLs, and that's another factor that may well keep his asking price down a little bit.
