4. Bring Ezekiel Elliott Back on a One-Year Deal

Let Zeke eat. With Tony Pollard gone, we need an additional back to share touches with Rico Dowdle. The position may be addressed in the draft, but bringing in an experienced running back alongside Dowdle and to help mentor a potential Rookie running back is a solid idea.

Ezekiel Elliot was not the number one option in New England, as evidenced by his career-low numbers in carries, yards, and touchdowns. When lead back Rhamondre Stevenson went down with an injury, his involvement in the run game became even more critical. His rushing year did include over 600 rushing yards on 184 carriers as the team's second option, both team-highs. He also led the team in receptions.

I understand the concern. The Ohio State product is out of his prime and there may be some hard feelings. However, he does have experience playing in the backfield with Dak and could prove to be an asset in mentoring a rookie running back. He is also durable, playing every game last season. If the Cowboys can sign him for less than 3 million a year, they should do it.
