The Dallas Cowboys arrive at their bye week with a 4-2 record through six weeks. The 2023 NFL season has been filled with highs and lows for America's Team, but a tense 20-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers helped the Cowboys head into the break with some much-needed momentum.

While some players must step up when Dallas returns to action, other Cowboys have lived up to or even exceeded their potential. In other words, certain players deserve to remain in Dallas for the foreseeable future.

With that in mind, here are four Cowboys who have already earned contract extensions based on their play this season.

4 Cowboys Who Deserve Contract Extensions

1. CeeDee Lamb

CeeDee Lamb wowed Dallas fans in his third NFL season, setting career highs across the board in receptions (107), receiving yards (1,359) and touchdowns (9) in 2022. The performance had Cowboys fans begging Jerry Jones to extend the gifted wideout.

Even though Lamb said he isn't focused on an extension this season, that doesn't mean he isn't deserving of one.

The former Oklahoma Sooner is off to another strong start in his fourth campaign. Although his 1 touchdown catch is somewhat underwhelming, he's still on pace to finish the year with 97 receptions and 1,346 yards -- fairly close to last year's totals.

With Brandin Cooks and Michael Gallup playing below expectations more often than not in 2023, Lamb's solid showing further cements him as one of the most important pieces of Dallas' attack. He's earned the status of being our WR1 and it's time for management to reward him.

And even if Lamb isn't focused on an extension at the moment, it'd be wise for the Cowboys to get things done before his market inflates.
