These four Cowboys are more than deserving of contract extensions based on how the first six weeks of the 2023 NFL season have gone.

4. Micah Parsons

Even though Micah Parsons isn't eligible for a contract extension until the 2023 season finishes, it isn't too early to point how how he deserves every penny on his next deal.

Parsons is proving to be a quarterback's worst nightmare again this year, racking up 5 sacks through 6 games. The 31.5 sacks that he's amassed since debuting in 2021 are the sixth-most in the NFL during that stretch, further showing just how elite he is.

He's also recorded 3 quarterback knockdowns, 3 hurries and 12 pressures while only missing 4.8% of missed tackles (the lowest percentage of his career) this year.

Parsons is so dangerous that opposing coaches specifically gameplan for him. He's getting double-teamed left and right, but even that isn't enough to stop the defensive workhorse.

His ability to line up virtually anywhere on the defensive line makes him that much more of a threat. Few NFL players are that versatile, further emphasizing his importance to not just our defense but the entire franchise as well.

Any potential contract extension after this season is going to be expensive, but the truth is that Parsons is worth every penny. The best comparison for a potential extension would be the five-year, $170 million contract that Nick Bosa signed with the San Francisco 49ers back in September.

Unless he rapidly declines, there's no reason why Parsons shouldn't spend his entire career with the Cowboys. I don't expect it to take long for an extension to be sorted out once the current season ends.
