Defensive Player of the Year: Micah Parsons
Does it come as a surprise to see Micah Parsons as our Midseason Defensive Player of the Year? After all, this is the same juggernaut who finished second in NFL DPOY voting in each of his first two campaigns before even turning 24 years old.
Parsons has, once again, been the Cowboys' best defender. The two-time Pro-Bowler leads the team in numerous categories, including sacks (7.5), tackles for lost yardage (10), pressures (20), and hurries (4). His dominance is at the point where Dallas makes him deal with double- and triple-team drills in practice to get him ready for games.

At this point, Cowboys fans shouldn't even be concerned with this midseason award β Parsons is one of the NFL Defensive Player of the Year frontrunners. The ex-Penn State product is tied with the Cleveland Browns' Myles Garrett for the top DPOY odds through Week 9.
The legend of Micah Parsons is only going to grow with each passing game. Until he proves otherwise, it's best to assume that he'll be the best defender on the field on any given night.
