3. Michael Gallup, Wide Receiver

A former third-round pick out of Colorado State, Michael Gallup rose to stardom quickly for Dallas. In just his second season, Gallup had 66 catches for 1,107 yards with six touchdowns. He even averaged 16.8 yards per reception, proving to be a deep threat.

Gallup continued to play well after this, recording 843 yards on 59 catches with five touchdowns in 2020. But then, injuries started to pile up and slow him down.

Banged up on and off throughout the 2021 campaign, Gallup wound up tearing his ACL late in the year against the Cardinals. He was able to rehab and get back to the field early in 2022 and by then, he had a brand new contract.

Gallup, who was slated for free agency, was given a five-year, $62.5 million extension keeping him in town.

Not only was it a bad idea to sign a wideout before seeing how his repaired knee would hold up, but the Cowboys even shipped off Amari Cooper to help pay for Gallup.

As fate would have it, Gallup struggled in 2022 with just 424 yards. He hasn’t been much better this year with 243 yards and no touchdowns through eight games. He’s also had some critical drops, including one on third-and-three against the Eagles.

As for Cooper, he continues to be an absolute stud for the Browns and would be exactly what this offense needs to turn the corner.
