5 Cowboys Unlikely to Return in 2025 After Poor Start to Season
5. Andrew Booth, Jr.
The Cowboys swapped cornerbacks this offseason when they traded Nashon Wright to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Andrew Booth Jr. Considering how Booth is a former 2022 second-rounder, some Dallas fans were (understandably) excited about adding the ex-Clemson Tiger to the lineup.
It didn't take Booth long to wear out his welcome, though.
The 24-year-old made his Cowboys debut against the New York Giants in Week 4 and was absolutely torched. Booth surrendered four receptions on as many targets for 85 yards and a 118.8 passer rating, resulting in a horrific 28.3 coverage grade on PFF. As a result of his unimpressive showing, Booth was limited strictly to special teams in Week 5.
The Dacula, GA native still has another season remaining on his contract, but don't expect him to play it with the Cowboys. Booth has to give Dallas a reason to be on the 2025 roster, which seems unlikely if he can't improve his play. It's also worth noting that the Cowboys can free up his entire $1.46 million salary if they trade him at any point in the offseason.
If he can't show what made him a second-round selection in the first place, Booth's time in Dallas will end as quickly as it began.
