4. Will Smith - RP

Smith joined the Kansas City Royals, so we already know he's leaving Texas to rejoin the club he first entered the majors with.

Given the departure of Pérez and the likely departure of Chapman, the Rangers' bullpen will look a lot differently in 2024 than it did at the end of this year.

Despite his strong profile, Smith put up mediocre numbers with Texas. He had a 2-7 record and 4.40 ERA but issued only 17 walks in 57.1 innings to 55 strikeouts. In a remarkable bit of irony, Smith won each of the last three World Series championships all with different clubs.

Dating back to spring training, Smith always had confidence the Rangers could pull off a magical run.

He was proven correct, though winning a title with the Royals may prove a bit more difficult. If he can pull that rabbit out of his hat, maybe he truly is a good luck charm.

This final departure is one that will pain fans, but is the nature of the business.
