5. Peyton Hendershot, TE

This is another numbers game that could send a very talented player out the door.

Peyton Hendershot was undrafted out of Indiana in 2022 and had 11 receptions for 103 yards and a touchdown as a rookie. He added another two yards and a score running the ball as a rookie. In year two, he missed nine games due to an ankle injury. When he returned, he recorded 38 yards on four receptions including a long of 24 yards.

Hendershot is an athletic player who can stretch the field with his speed. He was recruited by Mike McCarthy as well as Andy Reid ahead of the 2022 season, with both coaches believing he could be developed into a weapon.

The problem in Dallas is that he could be sliding even farther down the depth chart this year. Jake Ferguson has a stranglehold on the No. 1 spot and they'll keep Luke Schoonmaker at No. 2 no matter what since he was a second-round pick in 2023. There's also John Stephens Jr. who was on his way to the 53-man roster before a knee injury last year. As if there wasn't enough talent already, they added Brevyn Spann-Ford to the mix, signing the undrafted free-agent to a deal with nearly $250,000 guaranteed.

Hendershot was seen in a walking boot this offseason, so injuries could again be an issue. But if he's healthy, he can be a contributor in just about any offense. Perhaps some team in need of a pass-catching tight end would be willing to make a move.
