With training camp less than a month away, the Dallas Cowboys find themselves with a lot of questions needing answers. They had one of the least impressive offseasons the league has ever seen which could hinder them as they look to defend their NFC East title.

Dallas believes they filled each hole but in all honesty, they're expecting a whole lot to go right just to get back to where they were — which isn't ideal as every other team is trying to get better than they were in 2023.

Still, this is the bed they made and now they just have to focus on putting the best 53-man roster together they possibly can. Perhaps that means they'll continue to sign players to their 90-man roster ahead of camp. If so, these six players might not make it to Oxnard.

6. Josh Ball, OG

Josh Ball was supposed to be the Cowboys' latest mid-round steal. Selected at No. 138 overall in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, Ball showed a lot of promise early in his collegiate career. A starter as a freshman for Florida State, he ended up leaving in 2018 following accusations of dating violence that led to a suspension.

A year at Butler Community College proceeded a two-season run with Marshall. Ball started just one year with the Thundering Herd but still showed enough promise for the Cowboys to give him a chance.

Ball again went through a setback after an injury cost him his rookie campaign. He then found himself benched in favor of Jason Peters when he was unable to replace an injured Tyron Smith in 2022. A move to guard gave him new life in 2023 but there's almost no scenario where he makes it to the team this season.
