Preseason football is here. The Dallas Cowboys played their first game as they went on the road to take on the Los Angeles Rams. It proved to be a battle between Stetson Bennett for L.A. and Trey Lance for Dallas.

Lance was the better quarterback as Bennett threw four interceptions but in the end, it was the Rams who walked away with the win. Bennett, who had a fifth interception waived off due to a penalty, threw a game-winning touchdown with four seconds remaining.

Seeing the Cowboys in action gave us a much better idea of how their roster will shake out this season and these six players might not survive until Week 1.

6. Princeton Fant, Tight End

The cousin of former Iowa, and current Seattle Seahawks tight end Noah Fant, Princeton Fant spent six seasons with the University of Tennessee. He went undrafted in 2023 and signed with the Cowboys.

As a rookie, he spent the entire year on the practice squad. While he was never technically added to the active roster, he was elevated two times and appeared in two games. He played on special teams only, recording 30 snaps.

Against the Rams, he was on the field and spent time lined up as a fullback. At 6-foot-1 and 235 pounds, he's not as tall as most tight ends which could be why the coaching staff wanted to move him around and see what he had to offer.

Fant caught two passes but gained just seven yards. He's buried behind several talented tight ends and won't be able to get past John Stephens, Jr. Peyton Hendershot or Brevyn Spann-Ford. Even as a fullback, he would be looking up at Hunter Luepke, making him a long shot to make the team.
