6 Cowboys Who Won't Survive the Preseason

4. Sheldrick Redwine, Safety
There was a time when Sheldrick Redwine appeared to be a potential starter in the NFL. The Miami Hurricanes safety was taken in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.
As a rookie, he started five games while appearing in 12. He recorded 42 tackles and broke up two passes. In his second season, he played in 15 games with three starts and put up 27 tackles, one pass defense, and an interception.
That would be his final season with the Browns, however, as they waived him ahead of the 2021 season. He then made the rounds that year, starting with the New York Jets who had him play in two games. He was let go and landed with the Carolina Panthers where he was signed to the practice squad. He never made it to their active roster and was signed away by the Miami Dolphins, appearing in four games for them.
Redwine was out of the league in 2022 and then started 2023 with the Indianapolis Colts before finally making his way to Dallas.
After playing just one game in 2023, he was re-signed this off-season. However, he doesn't have an easy path to the roster with several talented safeties ahead of him, including rookie Julian Wood who recorded a pick in the preseason opener. That makes it unlikely that Redwine will make the team this year and at this point, it's fair to wonder if he survives the entire preseason.
