1. Nahshon Wright, Minnesota Vikings

Just as the Dallas Cowboys won the trade when they sent Kelvin Joseph to the Miami Dolphins, they also scored a victory this offseason when they made a cornerback swap.

Nahshon Wright was the 99th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. The third-round selection boasted incredible length at 6-foot-4 and 185 pounds but was still seen as a reach. He had physical traits that couldn't be taught but was raw and seen as a late-round pick, at best.

Former defensive coordinator Dan Quinn was enthusiastic about Wright, which helped bring him to Dallas. The problem was that he never truly developed. In three seasons, he played in 32 games with three starts. Wright recorded 37 tackles and had an interception in 2022. However, he also struggled in coverage and was primarily a special teams ace.

Knowing he wasn't going to make the roster under new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, Dallas sent Wright to the Minnesota Vikings in exchange for Andrew Booth, Jr. A former standout at Clemson, Booth was the 42nd pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He wasn't able to develop into the player the Vikings hoped he would be but he showed enough to make the roster in Dallas, which wasn't the case for Wright.

The Oregon State product wasn't claimed on waivers and eventually made his way back to Minnesota as a member of their practice squad. Still, it wasn't the result he hoped for.
