With the final preseason game behind us, the Cowboys now have some very tough decisions to make before they begin installing their Week 1 gameplan.

Unlike past years when teams had multiple roster cut days throughout the preseason, NFL roster limits now drop from 90 all the way down to 53 in one fell swoop. That deadline is coming up at 4 p.m. ET on Tuesday, August 29.

With so little time left for the Cowboys to sort out their personnel, here and 9 roster bubble players who will be cut by the deadline.

9 Cowboys Who Will Be Cut Following Preseason

1. Malik Davis

Whether you buy the Deuce Vaughn hype as the RB2 in Dallas or not, it's clear that he's a top-three back on this roster.

And beyond Vaughn, Tony Pollard's roster spot is, of course, locked up. The other back in the RB 2/3 conversation is Rico Dowdle.

Dowdle didn't have the wildly impressive preseason that Vaughn did, but he's certainly done enough to lock up a roster spot.

That means Malik Davis had a very tough path to a roster spot — needing to prove he was worth carrying four running backs for. And he simply didn't do enough to warrant that in training camp or the preseason.

It will be great if we can sign him back onto the practice squad after the cuts, but even if we don't it's not the end of the world.
