9 Cowboys Who Will Be Cut by Tuesday's Roster Deadline
8. Malik Jefferson
Even after DeMarvion Overshown's injury I just don't think Malik Jefferson has shown enough to sneak onto the tail end of the 53.
The Cowboys have shored up their interior defensive line this offseason and still have safeties capable of moving up into the box against the run, and I just don't see linebacker being a position of emphasis on the roster.
Leighton Vander Esch, Damone Clark and Jabril Cox are enough to hold things down.
A former third-round pick, Jefferson was hoping Dallas would be the fifth different franchise to give him a shot at suiting up, and he did start to make a case for himself early against the Jaguars.
Unfortunately a foot injury ended his preseason, and like Edoga he's just not valuable enough to keep on the 53 to try to get on the I.R. with designation to return.
