Cowboys star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb has taken his game to another level this season, setting career highs in almost every statistical category. Lamb has produced 122 receptions (on 168 targets) for 1,651 yards and 10 touchdowns.

In last week’s win against the Lions, Lamb had a career-best 13 receptions (17 receptions) for 227 yards and a touchdown. It doesn’t matter where the wideout lines up on the field, as he’s a matchup nightmare for most opposing cornerbacks.

Cowboys News: Lamb Wants To Become Highest-Paid WR

If he finishes this season strong, whenever it ends, Lamb will have a strong case to be one of the highest-paid offensive players in the league. The former Oklahoma wide receiver gave his thoughts Thursday on wanting to become the highest-paid wide receiver.

“Ideally, yeah, for sure, " Lamb said to Michael Gehlkin of the Dallas Morning News. However, he added that his focus is on winning the Super Bowl, and those talks can happen afterward.

The highest-paid receiver in the league currently is Miami’s Tyreek Hill because of AAV ($30M, four-year deal for $120M). However, Davante Adams has the larger contract, as he received a five-year, $140 million deal from the Las Vegas Raiders in 2022.

With Justin Jefferson and Tee Higgins scheduled to receive new deals this offseason, the receiver market will be reset again. Lamb will make $17.9 million next season due to the fifth-year option, but it would be wise of Jerry Jones to pay the explosive wide receiver.

The Cowboys can’t afford to have another Amari Cooper situation, whom they traded to the Browns in 2022, despite him only making $20 million that year. Something tells me that the Cowboys will sign Lamb to a lucrative contract, as he’s been one of the best young wideouts in the NFL.
