The mood around the Dallas Cowboys has changed on a dime after their Week 5 dismantling at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers. Dallas' offense is the primary target in the crosshairs after a lifeless performance that has outsiders rethinking their status as a legit Super Bowl contender.

However, it's not just those outside of the locker room who are disappointed with this unit. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb had a NSFW message for the offense after the game.

The star urged his teammates that they need to put in a "complete" effort. He added they can't "go out there one week and look like a super team and then the following week [expletive] the bed.”

Lamb's comments speak to the Cowboys' overall issue. They beat up on two downtrodden New York teams to begin the season, which boosted egos. Then the team got complacent with the lowly Arizona Cardinals in Week 3 and fell on its faces in an embarrassing loss.

Week 4 presented another opponent in the New England Patriots who were easy blowout material, but Dallas then hit rock bottom again on Sunday.

This roller-coaster of a performance highlights the lack of seriousness from this squad. They should be playing every week like they have something to prove, instead of basking in lopsided affairs against teams they should be beating up on.

This matchup with San Francisco provided a national stage for Dallas to show everyone why it's a contender. Instead, this roster looked like a bunch of pretenders who aren't ready to take that next step.

Most frustrating is the lack of clear answers. It's certainly not talent, as the Cowboys are overflowing with it on both sides of the ball. Perhaps it's on the coaching staff for not gameplanning properly, or the players for not executing the way they should be.

Either way, there's clear core issues Dallas needs to address before anyone even discusses the Super Bowl again.
