The Dallas Cowboys saw another star wide receiver get paid this offseason as Justin Jefferson received a blockbuster four-year, $140 million ($110 million guaranteed) contract extension from the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

The Cowboys know they must pay star wide receiver CeeDee Lamb eventually, but have yet to do it despite Amon-Ra St. Brown, A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, and Jefferson all receiving extensions this offseason.

Lamb has yet to receive his contract extension from Dallas despite coming off a career year in 2023, where he was one of the best wide receivers in the NFL. The former first-round pick had 135 receptions (181 targets) for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns.

The 25-year-old receiver did not show up to voluntary OTAs last month and is willing to risk a fine until he gets a new deal.

Cowboys News: Star Receiver Not Showing up to Mandatory Minicamp

On Tuesday morning, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that Lamb has not been spotted in Dallas for mandatory minicamp. If the star wide receiver doesn’t report to minicamp, he will be subjected to fines.

It’s not surprising to see the former first-round pick take this step, as the Cowboys have yet to give him an extension. For Dallas to have any chance of winning the NFC East this season (+130 on FanDuel Sportsbook), they need Lamb on the field.

However, it’s not simple from the Cowboys’ perspective, as they also have to pay star QB Dak Prescott, who is due for an extension. Prescott hasn’t taken the same approach as Lamb, but you must believe he wants security as well.

The Cowboys cannot ill-afford to wait any longer to re-sign Lamb to an extension because we are inching closer to the start of training camp next month. That said, it will be interesting to see if Dallas fines Lamb for not showing up to minicamp, which could complicate things for both parties going forward.
