The Dallas Cowboys ended training camp with a ton of emotion at Wednesday’s practice. The team will prepare to head back to the Lone Star State for their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Chargers.

However, before they could travel back to Dallas, the Cowboys had a small fight break out at practice between two starters.

According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, tight end Jake Ferguson threw a stiff arm at safety Donovan Wilson, which he didn’t appreciate. Wilson proceeded to take a swing at the young tight end. But thankfully, things didn’t escalate from there as teammates broke up the fight.

Fights among teammates are not uncommon at training camp as you are hitting and practicing against each other for multiple weeks. You hope no one gets into a heated conflict, but if it does happen, you want no one to get hurt.

The Cowboys coaches are likely happy that no one was hurt and that the players took it upon themselves to break it up.

Dallas could not afford to lose Ferguson or Wilson, who are integral to the team's success on both sides of the ball. Ferguson is coming off a career-year in 2023, recording 71 receptions (102 targets) for 761 yards and five touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Wilson posted 88 combined tackles, three pass deflections, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, and a quarterback hit in 2023.

Dallas has a lot to prove this offseason after getting embarrassed at home in the playoffs last year by the Green Bay Packers.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy hopes the same energy the Cowboys had for that fight will carry over into the final preseason game and the start of the regular season.
