Cowboys 2023 Schedule: Predicting the Score of Every Remaining Game

Week 18: Cowboys @ Commanders - Jan. 7

Last year, the Dallas Cowboys went into Week 18 on the heels of two wins in a row and thought they could make it three with the Washington Commanders hosting them. Washington was also starting Sam Howell, a rookie fifth-round pick, giving Dallas all the confidence that they would end the year with a three-game winning streak.

That didn't happen and they were handed an embarrassing 26-6 defeat. The offense was a complete mess in that one and managed a mere 64 yards on the ground while surrendering 151. They did regroup from this as they crushed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs but this wasn't how they wanted to end the regular season.

With a rematch to close out the year, look for the Cowboys to have a completely different focus in this one. Throw in the fact that they just lost two in a row in our prediction and they're going to take out all of their frustrations on the Commanders.

Again, Washington trading away Montez Sweat and Chase Young comes back to bite them as Prescott has a field day while leading his team to win No. 12. We won't know if that's enough to catch the Eagles but it will be good enough for a postseason berth. From there, they need to figure out how to exorcise the demons they have in the playoffs.
