After proclaiming that the Dallas Cowboys would be “all in” this offseason as they prepare for the 2024 season, the team has been quiet throughout the first two days of free agency.

Dallas saw multiple free agents (Tony Pollard, Tyler Biadasz, Dorance Armstrong) sign deals elsewhere, and the only move they’ve made is re-signing long snapper Tyler Sieg, which won’t make fans happy.

That being said, the Cowboys will have some time to make things right with the fan base and make the necessary improvements to the roster. One position that Dallas needs to focus on is running back, which is in flux with Pollard now in Tennessee and Rico Dowdle as an unrestricted free agent.

Dowdle, who saw his playing time increase this past season with the Cowboys, went on Twitter and questioned why fans are hating him.

It was a simple question made in jest by the veteran running back, who Dallas might need to re-sign with how things are going in free agency. Fellow Cowboys fans responded to the tweet from Dowdle, throwing a ton of blame at Jerry Jones and the front office but also showing their love for the backup running back.

This past season with Dallas, the 25-year-old running back played a career-high 22 percent of offensive snaps while racking up 505 yards from scrimmage and four total touchdowns. Dowdle might not be ready for the RB1 role in Dallas, but he is a reliable second option in the backfield.
