The Cowboys have one of the most fearsome defensive fronts in the NFL and one former all-pro was just released that could put Dallas' line over the top.

Justin Houston was released by the Carolina Panthers, hoping to join a contender. Dallas is the perfect fit for the former All-Pro.

Find out why Dallas should target Houston below as the Cowboys fine tune the roster for a deep playoff run.

Cowboys Rumors: Dallas Needs to Sign Justin Houston

Houston is one of the more accomplished pass rushers of the last decade. He has 112 career sacks, having spent time with the Chiefs, Ravens, Colts and now Panthers.

Given his desire to join a contender, it likely wouldn't require a big investment to get Houston in Dallas. He's never played for an NFC team and the Cowboys signing him could keep him away from other contenders like the Eagles as well.

Micah Parson and DeMarcus Lawrence are their usual excellent selves, though quality teams can never use too many pass rushers.

Houston might be the final piece to push the Cowboys' defense over the top. This is a Super Bowl or bust season and these are the kinds of moves the front office needs to make if it's serious about contending.
