Round 7, Pick 231: Joshua Cephus, WR, UTSA

Wide receiver is a bit of a need and while it's fun to dream of CeeDee Lamb pairing with his cousin Keon Coleman, there are more pressing concerns on this offense that needed attention more than wideout. Dallas is expected to release Michael Gallup but Brandin Cooks is still there — and shouldn't be released — as is Jalen Tolbert who took a step forward in 2023.

Dallas does need to add more depth and while an affordable veteran is possible, they also land a late-round selection here with Joshua Cephus.

The UTSA product wasn't at the combine but has excellent size at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds. He also went for 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns this past season. He's a developmental prospect but could be worth the flier.

Round 7, Pick 242: Josh DeBerry, CB, Texas A&M

A Boston College transfer, Josh DeBerry spent his final season with Texas A&M where he had 39 tackles, two picks, and broke up seven passes. He played well enough to get a crack at a spot in the NFL and finds himself staying in Texas as the Cowboys make him their final pick in this mock.

With Trevon Diggs, DaRon Bland, and hopefully, Stephon Gilmore, Dallas has a strong secondary. That means DeBerry will need to make his way to the roster via special teams.
