The Dallas Cowboys have constantly been talked about throughout the offseason. That's what happens when you have a powerful owner like Jerry Jones but have failed to meet expectations in the postseason.

The Cowboys didn't make any big-time additions this offseason after they lost the likes of Tony Pollard, Tyron Smith, Dorance Armstrong, and Dan Quinn in the spring.

Dallas decided to bring back Ezekiel Elliott on a one-year deal. They now have Elliott, Rico Dowdle, and Royce Freeman as the main ball carriers in the backfield for the 2024 season.

Now that the regular season is a month away, the Cowboys are keeping tabs on two veteran running backs.

Cowboys News: Miles Sanders and Dalvin Cook on Dallas’ Radar

The Cowboys have been in training camp for two weeks but according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, they will be keeping an eye on Miles Sanders and Dalvin Cook.

"They will monitor the Ezekiel Elliott-Rico Dowdle-Royce Freeman experience, while keeping a short list of external options, just in case. Carolina's Miles Sanders is on that list. And Dalvin Cook has shown interest in playing for the Cowboys. "

Dallas adding a player like Sanders would be a nice addition at this point of the summer. The Penn State product can be a viable pass catcher and ball carrier in between the tackles. He did struggle last season with the Carolina Panthers but that was one of the worst offenses in the league.

In his career, Sanders has compiled 4,140 rushing yards, 1,096 receiving yards, and 24 total scores.

As for Cook, he looked like a shell of himself last season with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens. He didn't have the same burst, finishing with just 214 yards on 67 carries with the Jets.

But one clear thing is Dallas understands they may need to make additions in the backfield. And that they have a few guys in mind.
