Week 2: Dallas Cowboys vs. New Orleans Saints

In Week 2, the Cowboys head to AT&T Stadium in Arlington for the first time this season (and they were there just once in the preseason). They’ll host the New Orleans Saints who finished 2023 on a hot streak. After falling to 5-7 in early December, the Saints won four of their final five games. At 9-8, they just missed the playoffs but had high expectations entering the offseason.

As much grief as Dallas got (rightfully so) for their inactivity in the offseason, New Orleans didn’t do much either. Outside of signing defensive end Chase Young, who can be hit or miss, they didn’t make many moves. They also enter the season with one of the worst depth charts at wide receiver.

Saints WR Depth Chart:

Chris Olave
Cedrick Wilson
Rashid Shaheed
A.T. Perry
Bub Means
Mason Tipton

Dallas might have issues with the ground game thanks to Alvin Kamara and Young could be a problem for Guyton. However, this one will eventually come down to which quarterback can move the ball downfield.

Prescott has proven time and again that he can rack up points, especially at home. By Week 2, CeeDee Lamb will have shaken off any rust. They’re also ready to lean more heavily on Brandin Cooks, Jalen Tolbert, and tight end Jake Ferguson. That will lead to the home team putting up points while the visitors won’t be able to keep pace in a shootout — even with DaRon Bland out.

Prediction: Cowboys 34, Saints 17
Cowboys Record: 2-0
