Cowboys Stars Make Surprise Mike Zimmer Reveal After Week 1 win
By Jovan Alford
The Dallas Cowboys’ defense put together an incredible performance in Week 1 as they stymied the Cleveland Browns’ offense.
Dallas held Cleveland to 17 points and 230 yards of total offense. The Cowboys also intercepted Browns starting quarterback Deshaun Watson twice and had him under siege with six sacks. If you are a Dallas fan, you couldn’t be more impressed with what new defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer was able to do with this unit.
After the blowout win, Cowboys star players Trevon Diggs and Micah told reporters that “y’all haven’t seen anything yet” when speaking about Zimmer’s defense, according to Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com
In fact, Diggs revealed that there are 50-plus sets in Zimmer’s defensive playbook and they only showed three in the win over the Cleveland Browns.
On one hand, Dallas’ coaches likely don’t want the star cornerback to be putting that type of information out there. However, on the other hand, the fact that Dallas only showed three sets last week and still has at least 47 more unseen sets is scary to think about.
Many fans wondered if the Cowboys defense would take a step back after seeing Dan Quinn leave the organization to take the head coaching job with the Washington Commanders. But it appears that wasn’t the case as Dallas came out firing on all cylinders.
The Cowboys’ defense will look to duplicate their Week 1 performance on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, who are coming off a dominating win over the Carolina Panthers.
