Cowboys vs. Patriots Opening Odds Project Huge Bounce Back for Dallas

Week 3 did not go as planned for the Dallas Cowboys. They traveled to Arizona as heavy 12.5-point favorites against the Cardinals, only to end up losing by 12 in embarrassing fashion.
Fortunately for the Cowboys, they're in a good spot to rebound in Week 4. Not only are they back home, but they also have another matchup against a middling opponent with the New England Patriots coming to town.
Here's a look at what oddsmakers are projecting for Sunday's Week 4 matchup against the Patriots.
Cowboys vs. Patriots Week 4 Opening Odds
Despite Week 3's humiliating defeat, Dallas is still favored by a touchdown at home against New England heading into Week 4.
Not surprisingly, the oddsmakers don't have much faith in the 1-2 Patriots this week. Their only win came against the New York Jets, who haven't beaten New England since 2015. That game was still relatively close, too, as the Patriots pulled out an ugly 15-10 victory in Week 3.
The win didn't do anything to silence the doubts around New England quarterback Mac Jones, who didn't play much better than Zach Wilson. Jones still hasn't proven that he can beat quality opponents consistently and is just 3-12 all-time against playoff teams, which bodes well for Dallas.
The Patriots have a coaching edge with Bill Belichick, but that's about their only advantage. The Cowboys have the superior offense and defense, scoring 34 more points and allowing 21 fewer through the first three weeks. Throw in home-field advantage, and Dallas should win this one fairly easily.
Maybe not by a touchdown, however, as New England has covered or pushed +7 in all three games this year. The Under looks appealing, though, given that both defenses are among the best in the NFL and are allowing a combined 32.4 points per game.
