The Dallas Cowboys have a very talented roster, but there are some clear holes heading into the offseason. Running back is certainly one of those holes.

Dallas decided not to place the franchise tag on Pollard for the second consecutive year. The franchise tag number in 2024 for running backs is listed at $12.1 million and the Cowboys don't want to dish that kind of money out — especially with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb both looking for big-money extensions.

The Cowboys can draft well and they are already eyeing some rookie talent at running back.

Cowboys Draft Rumors: RB Coaches Attend Tyrone Tracy Jr. Workout

Dallas had their running back coaches on hand at Purdue's Pro Day as prospect Tyrone Tracy Jr. worked out for teams around the NFL.

The Cowboys own five total picks in the 2024 NFL Draft, including three selections in the first three rounds. Tracy is projected as a mid-round pick, so Dallas will have their shot if they believe he's the future of the backfield.

Tracy Jr. is an agile ball carrier with a combination of power, speed, and vision. He also has reliable hands as a pass catcher coming out of the backfield — as a former wide receiver who made the transition to the backfield as a senior.

In 2023, he racked up 716 rushing yards with eight rushing scores. He also reeled in 19 receptions for 132 receiving yards.

Furthermore, at the NFL Scouting Combine, he ran a 4.48 40-yard dash with a 40-inch vertical jump. Tracy Jr. looked smooth in the pass-catching drills and showcased his strength, pumping out 21 reps in the bench press.

The Cowboys own one of the best rosters in the league and have a real shot of reaching Super Bowl LIX. They currently have the seventh-best odds in the NFL to win the whole thing at +1400.
