ESPN Predicts Shocking Tony Pollard Landing Spot
The Dallas Cowboys have one of the best rosters in the league but have contract extensions looming for Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons.
Those are the three best players on the team so you know Dallas will pony up the money to make sure these guys stay in Dallas for the long term. As for running back Tony Pollard, his future with the Cowboys is yet to be determined.
Dallas is not expected to place the franchise tag on Pollard in 2024. The cap number this year for running backs is $12.1 million.
He is now slated to hit the open market and could have a bunch of suitors for his services.
ESPN's Tim McManus believes Pollard is a fit for the Philadelphia Eagles in free agency. The Eagles recently hired Kellen Moore to be their offensive coordinator and there is a connection between these two men.
Moore was Dallas' offensive coordinator from 2019-2022 and coached Pollard for those four seasons.
McManus thinks that Pollard would fit into the Eagles scheme due to his dual-threat ability in both the run and pass game.
Since entering the NFL in 2019, Pollard has compiled 3,621 rushing yards, 1,318 receiving yards, and 28 total touchdowns.
If Pollard did make the jump and joined the division-rival Eagles, it certainly wouldn't sit well with Cowboys fans. That is their biggest opposition in the division and they wouldn't want any of their players to trot over there.
Free agency is just a few weeks away and one thing is certain. Pollard is going to touch the open market and test the waters.
