Latest Brandin Cooks Injury Update is Huge News for Cowboys

Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reports Cooks "should be OK" for Week 3's matchup versus the Arizona Cardinals. Gehlken also notes the vet has taken second-year pro Jalen Tolbert under his wing since arriving, which could help Dallas make up for Cooks' absence.
Cooks missing Sunday's contest would affect the Cowboys' offense in more ways than one. The perennial 1,000-yard threat is a great No. 2 to have alongside CeeDee Lamb who commands attention from opposing defenses, ensuring Lamb isn't covered up. Cooks' ability to impact games also opens up the field for Dallas' complementary pieces, allowing Dak Prescott to have an easier time getting the ball out to Tolbert and his tight ends.
Heading into a matchup with a top-end defense, having Cooks on the field would be massive for Prescott and company. Instead, it'll be on Tolbert and Michael Gallup to pick up the slack among the wideouts.
