Detroit has two straight wins, though it could be due for a let-down after clinching a divisional title. Meanwhile, Dallas needs a win to maintain faint hopes of a No. 1 seed in the conference.
Oddsmakers certainly believe the Cowboys will bounce back, making them sizeable favorites in this Week 17 showdown. Let's take a look at the opening odds below.
Lions vs. Cowboys Week 17 Opening Odds
The Cowboys are six-point favorites with moneyline odds of -270 and a high total set at 53.5, implying we'll see a shootout between two of the NFL's best offenses.
Ultimately, oddsmakers expect Dallas to win thanks to an electric offensive performance. The Cowboys have just 30 points over the last two weeks, both losses, after putting up 30+ in five straight. Luckily for Dallas, the Lions rank 24th in opponent points per game (23.7).
Detroit is certainly a capable opponent, having covered the spread in three of their last four with a theoretical chance at the No. 1 seed as well.
