Micah Parsons Sends Threat to Cocky Commanders Receiver After 2-0 Start

It probably isn't a good idea to have Micah Parsons' attention.

We're only two weeks into the 2023 NFL season and the NFC East looks to be as tight as ever. The Dallas Cowboys, Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders are all off to 2-0 starts, leaving time to tell who'll be sitting atop the division when all is said and done.

Hot starts can sometimes lead to players being overconfident, however, and the Commanders' Jahan Dotson proved that in Week 2. The second-year wideout took to social media after his team's 35-33 win over the Denver Broncos, posting "2-0" along with a yawning emoji.

Unsurprisingly, the Cowboys faithful wasn't having any of this, nor was Micah Parsons. The elite defender quoted Dotson's post on X, simply uttering the terrifying words "I'm coming...

Micah Parsons News

It's nice to see Parsons speaking up, especially since there's little reason for the Commanders to be that cocky. While a 2-0 start is impressive on paper, their first win came against the lowly Arizona Cardinals before they nearly blew an 11-point lead against the Broncos with less than two minutes to go.

Dotson & Co. must temper expectations. The Commanders have won the NFC East once since 2016 and the only year they did it was with a 7-9 record due to the entire division being down. Barring a miraculous run, I don't see their luck changing.

At the same time, Parsons sending a message to Dotson could all be in good fun. After all, the duo spent three seasons together at Penn State and were even together at a Nittany Lions tailgate party earlier this month. Nevertheless, there won't be time for friendliness the next time these NFC East rivals meet.

Unfortunately, fans of both sides will have to wait until late November for that. The Cowboys and Commanders don't meet until a Week 12 matchup at AT&T Stadium, meaning Washington still has nine more games to solidify itself as a threat before taking on Dallas.

If the Commanders can't do that and expose themselves as pretenders, I won't be able to wait to see Parsons and the rest of the Cowboys eat them alive.

It's also worth noting that Dallas is 3-1 in the four games that Parsons has played against Washington. The two-time All-Pro defender racked up 10 solo tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3 tackles for lost yardage and a forced fumble in those contests.
