Predicting the First-Round Picks for Each of the Cowboys' NFC East Rivals

Giants, Pick No. 6: Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
There were reports at the beginning of the draft process that the New York Giants could be targeting Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy. That would be a huge swing for them just a couple of years after signing Daniel Jones to a massive — and highly criticized — extension. It also would be understandable given the performance of Jones in 2023.
The problem is that McCarthy might not be there at No. 6. Originally seen as a middle-of-the-round pick, there are rumors that someone will trade up for McCarthy. The Minnesota Vikings are one franchise expected to make a move, leaving the Giants with a decision to make.
They could drop down and target Bo Nix or Michael Penix. Or they could fill another huge need by taking LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers. That’s the route they go in this prediction, giving themselves a No. 1 target.
At 6-foot-0 and 200 pounds, Nabers doesn’t possess elite size but he has enough to be a boundary wideout. He’s also fast enough to get past any defender and can win the jump balls thanks to his impressive leaping ability. In his final season with the Tigers, Nabers had 89 receptions for 1,569 yards with 14 touchdowns. It’s been a while since New York has had a game-changer at receiver like him, making him well worth the selection.
