Two Key Giants Now Likely Out for Cowboys Game After Practice No-Show
By Jovan Alford
The Dallas Cowboys desperately need a win after dropping their last two games at home against the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens. The Cowboys have embarrassed themselves in front of the home fans and look like one of the worst teams in the NFC.
However, Dallas has a chance to change the narrative about themselves on Thursday night against the New York Giants. The Giants are coming off their first win of the season in Week 3 vs. the Cleveland Browns.
New York’s offense will try to capitalize on the Cowboys’ defensive struggles, while Dallas’ offense will look to attack the Giants’ defense.
Speaking of New York’s defense, they are in big trouble heading into Thursday night’s matchup, which is great news for Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys’ offense.
According to ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, cornerbacks Adoree Jackson and Dru Phillips will be listed as did not practice. Jackson and Phillips are both dealing with calf injuries.
If Jackson and Phillips cannot play on Thursday night, the Cowboys’ wide receivers and tight end should feast against the Giants’ secondary depth.
Jackson has posted three combined tackles and a pass deflection this season. Meanwhile, Phillips has recorded 17 combined tackles, three tackles for loss, a quarterback hit, a sack, and a forced fumble.
Dallas is ranked sixth in scoring (25.7 points per game) and first in passing (269.7 yards), but it hasn’t equaled wins, except in Week 1 against the Cleveland Browns. That said, Vegas still likes the Cowboys to win on Thursday as they are 5.5-point favorites on DraftKings Sportsbook.
