Heading into Week 3, the Dallas Cowboys may get even better after their dominant start to the year. That's because their injury reinforcements seem to be on the brink of returning to the field, as it's been reported safety Donovan Wilson is eyeing his 2023 debut this Sunday.

However, Wilson isn't the only player Dallas received some great news on to begin preparation for this week's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Starting left guard Tyler Smith, who suffered a hamstring strain right before Week 1, returned to practice on Wednesday. He was officially labeled a limited participant, which is great to see considering he last took the field on Sept. 5.

The fact Smith is practicing again is huge development for the Cowboys. It means he's made some major progress in his recovery, and it gives him at least of chance of playing in Week 3 if he continues to make strides. Even if he doesn't suit up versus Arizona, he should be back on the field in short order.

While Dallas has gotten by just fine without the promising 2022 first-round pick, the team would love to finally have its starting O-line finally back together again. Smith impressed is in rookie season, earning a solid 71.4 overall grade from ProFootballFocus and entrenching himself at left guard from the jump.

Chuma Edoga has filled in nicely for Smith, but now he's nursing an elbow injury he picked up in Week 2. Stud right guard Zack Martin is also a little banged up after rolling his ankle against the New York Jets, so Smith's impending return could not come at a better time.

That being said, it'd be no surprise if Week 4 is when Smith makes his season debut. A cupcake matchup against the Cardinals should be no problem for the Cowboys who are currently healthy, affording the likes of Smith, Edoga, Martin and Wilson extra time if they need it to recover.
