VIDEO: Rangers Strike First in Game 7 With Corey Seager's Massive Homer
By Tyler Maher
Game 7 of the ALCS is officially underway, and the Texas Rangers are already off and running.
After bludgeoning the Houston Astros 9-2 in Game 6 on Sunday, the Rangers picked up right where they left off. Two batters into the game, Corey Seager proved once again why he's one of the best players in baseball by blasting a massive solo homer off Cristian Javier.

Seager absolutely demolished that ball, blasting it into the second deck in right-center field.
Seager's big fly gave Texas a quick 1-0 lead, but the Rangers were just getting started. Clearly rattled, Javier immediately walked Evan Carter, then allowed Carter to steal second. RBI machine Adolis Garcia -- the center of so much drama recently -- promptly drove him in with a single to left.
While Garcia's been showing off his power lately, he showed his wheels by stealing second base as well, moving into scoring position and keeping the pressure on Javier. The steal immediately paid off when Mitch Garver singled, knocking in Garcia and extending the lead to 3-0.
Jonah Heim singled to put runners at the corners with only one out, but unfortunately both were stranded there. Dusty Baker wisely yanked Javier and called in Phil Maton to put out the fire, which he did by whiffing Nathaniel Lowe and Josh Jung to escape the jam.
Still, what a start! Max Scherzer can probably use all the run support he can get tonight after getting roughed up in Game 3, so we'll take it. Javier is likely headed to an early shower now as well, which means we'll be able to tee off on the Astros' bullpen.
There was a lot of controversy leading up to this game about Bryan Abreu's impending suspension, and Houston was clearly distracted. It's not a good look to be whining and complaining before such a big game, and you'd expect better from a team that is in its seventh straight ALCS.
Karma? We'll see. We still have a long way to go in this one, but it's our game to lose now.
