In a pivotal offseason for the Dallas Cowboys, the team made their first significant move on Tuesday for the 2025 season and beyond. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Cowboys have re-signed defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa to a four-year $80 million contract, which includes $58 million guaranteed.
Schefter adds that the Cowboys defensive lineman will also get $20 million guaranteed with his new deal.

This is a huge move for the Cowboys and Odighizuwa as he’s one of their most consistent players on the defensive line not named Micah Parsons.
Ahead of last week’s NFL Scouting Combine, Cowboys chief operating officer and co-owner Stephen Jones told David Moore of the Dallas Morning News that Odighizuwa is “an important” and that they had contract talks with the veteran defensive lineman.
Odighizuwa is coming off a terrific 2024 season where he had 33 quarterback pressures, 23 QB hits, and 4.5 sacks. That said, if the former third-round pick were to hit the free agent market, he would be in high-demand due to his age and upside.
However, luckily for Cowboys fans, they do not have to worry about Odighizuwa leaving anytime soon. Odighizuwa’s contract is good for him, but also great for the Cowboys, who are projected to have $3.48 million in cap space this offseason.
According to OverTheCap, the total value of Odighizuwa’s contract puts him above Jonathan Allen ($72 million), but there are 11 other interior defensive linemen whose contract is greater than his.
Odighizuwa’s average salary ($20 million) ranks him 14th among all defensive tackles heading into 2025, per Spotrac.
With the 26-year-old defensive lineman locked in, the Cowboys now turn their attention to Parsons, who will likely reset the market for edge rushers. Dating back to last summer with the Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb deals, the Cowboys almost have their core players locked in for the foreseeable future.
