The Dallas Cowboys pulled off a big divisional win over the Washington Commanders in Week 7. Notably, they did so without starting cornerback Trevon Diggs, who reportedly suffered a concussion following a domestic accident on Thursday night.

Diggs has been openly critical of defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus, and he hasn't looked happy on the sidelines this season. And, considering that the team or him have yet to disclose any details about that incident, some believe there could be more going on there.

Schottenheimer, Jones Decline to Share Details About Trevon Diggs

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer didn't dive into details after the win. However, he tried to shut down all rumors by stating that he definitely wants Diggs to be a part of the roster moving forward, according to team beat writer Tommy Yarrish:

"Brian Schottenheimer shuts down any speculation that Trevon Diggs won’t be a part of the Cowboys team going forward. Said he’s a 'Trevon fan' and hopes he won’t be sidelined too long," Yarrish wrote.

Team owner Jerry Jones, on the other hand, was a little more secretive about the situation. Per NFL insider Ed Werder of WFAA, Jones only said that he expects things to be business as usual with Diggs once he's cleared from the concussion protocol:

"Jerry Jones said he has not seen Trevon Diggs since he reported concussion symptoms from accident at home but shared that Diggs will be paid his game check and expects him to be on field once he clears protocols - as soon as next week," Werder reported.

Some players miss a couple of games after being diagnosed with a concussion. But given that the incident reportedly took place at home, it might not be that serious, and Diggs could return as early as next week to face the Denver Broncos on the road.

Ironically, the Cowboys put together their best defensive performance of the season without Diggs on the field. Fellow CB DaRon Bland recorded his 6th career pick-six, and while Dallas did give up 22 points, two of those came via a safety, and Washington's final touchdown came long after the game was already out of reach.

The Cowboys held Jayden Daniels and Marcus Mariota to 205 passing yards. They had one interception, four sacks, and one fumble recovery. Granted, the Commanders were undermanned, but it was still a big step in the right direction, especially with all the rumblings around Matt Eberflus' job security.

As great as that outcome was for Dallas and the members of the Cowboys' defensive unit, getting Diggs healthy and back in the lineup should only make that group even stronger. When exactly that will happen, though, remains to be seen.
