2. Jacksonville Jaguars

One of the more shocking storylines in the NFL this season is how bad the Jacksonville Jaguars have been. After finishing last season with a respectable 9-8 record, many across the NFL thought the Jaguars would be one of the up-and-coming teams in the AFC. However, with a pitiful 2-9 record, which puts them in a three-way tie for the worst record in the league, the Jaguars are a far cry from the promising team they appeared to be last year.

With current Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson most likely out the door once the season concludes, McCarthy could be a solid candidate for the role and hopefully revert the Jaguars back into the young promising team that showed flashes of becoming before this dreadful season first began.

Similar to the Saints, the Jaguars possess a solid young roster led by Trevor Lawrence, who has shown that he has the potential to become a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback under the right circumstances. McCarthy has spent most of his career developing young quarterbacks and elevating their games, and Lawrence could benefit significantly from being under McCarthy's tutelage.

Overall, McCarthy could be a great fit for Jacksonville and help develop a young team into potential contenders in the AFC.

1. Tennessee Titans

After last season, the Tennessee Titans made the somewhat perplexing decision to fire Mike Vrabel, who served as head coach of the Titans for five years and had a successful tenure overall, finishing with a 54-45 record. Since firing Vrabel, the Titans' front office, has hired long-time Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan, who has had an extremely challenging time getting the Titans in a position to win games in his first year as a head coach as they are currently sitting near the bottom of the AFC South division with a 3-8 record.

Although the Titans currently have one of the worst records in the NFL, they have shown promise throughout the season, as five of their eight losses were only by ten points or less. Due to the potential that the Titans have shown this season, it could be argued that they could benefit from a more seasoned and experienced coach who could push them into becoming a much more competitive team than they currently appear to be.

Moving to Tennessee would also reunite McCarthy with his former running back Tony Pollard, who signed with the Titans this past off-season. Pollard found great success under McCarthy as he was able to rush for over 1,000 years both years, he was the No.1 running back for the Cowboys.

A reunion between McCarthy and Pollard could help rejuvenate the Titans offense, which has been lackluster, to say the least, this season as the team currently holds a pitiful -88 points differential, which happens to be second worst in the AFC.
