The Dallas Cowboys never make big waves in free agency, and they followed that same approach this offseason. The Cowboys have added WR Parris Campbell, OLB Dante Fowler, RB Javonte Williams, DL Solomon Thomas, and DE Payton Turner.
Despite failing to make any big splashes, that doesn't mean they didn't try too. The Cowboys were reportedly making a push to sign receiver Cooper Kupp, who signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
Before agreeing to terms with the Seahawks, it's been revealed that Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb tried to persuade Kupp to sign with the Cowboys.
ESPN's Adam Schefter said on his podcast, "Last Thursday, the Cowboys reached out about Cooper Kupp and they were interested. Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb, who I understand it, were on the phone with Cooper Kupp talking to him about the idea of coming to Dallas, and it was floated out there. And then the Cowboys heard the numbers, and they were at numbers that the Cowboys weren't going to get to."

Dak Prescott & CeeDee Lamb Wanted Cooper Kupp to Sign With Dallas
The Cowboys need a WR2 behind Lamb badly and they believed Kupp could have been that addition. But fans already know why things didn't cross the finish line. Money.
Kupp's asking price wasn't what Dallas was willing to offer and halted things from getting done. One evident thing is that Prescott wanted another weapon added to the aerial attack. Despite his interest, his request was shut down.
In early March, Prescott restructured his contract, freeing up $36.6 million in cap space. He was hoping the team could have made some quality additions with the extra money, but that wasn't the case.
Kupp is the latest example of that, and he would have been an excellent fit in Dallas. In eight seasons with the Rams, he logged 634 receptions for 7,776 receiving yards and 57 touchdowns.
He now takes his talents to Seattle while the Cowboys are still searching for a quality No. 2 receiver.
