The Dallas Cowboys blockbuster trade for George Pickens breathed life back into an offense that had grown increasingly stale. The addition of Pickens and the return of Dak Prescott are enough to get fans to believe this team can factor into the NFC East race. Yes, there are still defensive questions that need answers, but the team can rely on their veteran quarterback and incredible receiver talent to at least give them a playoff ceiling.

If the franchise wanted to take things a step further, there is a clear answer to the Dallas backfield sitting in free agency in Nick Chubb. The back is coming off an injury-plagued 2024 season and would be the perfect discount price that Jerry Jones prefers these days. Jones has been noticeably cheaper in free agency, pouring the team's resources into retaining their own players. With this in mind, Chubb is the perfect compromise, giving the Cowboys' backfield a much-needed boost.

Nick Chubb Would Be the Final Missing Piece for the Dallas Cowboys' Offense

How much faith do the Cowboys have in Miles Sanders? Considering how the veteran's career fared in Carolina, they would be wise to bring in another option. Chubb has a far higher ceiling than any back on the Dallas roster. Already, the Cowboys have reason to regret their decision a year ago, passing on Derrick Henry.

The current Raven lit the league on fire in the 2024 season, along with hated rival Saquon Barkley, who joined the Eagles. Dallas must keep in mind what joining an improved team can do for an accomplished back. While Chubb might not have the ceiling of these two players, he is just a tier below when at his best.

Nick Chubb, George Pickens, and CeeDee Lamb gives you an offensive ceiling not just to be a wildcard team but to compete for the NFC East. The veteran back can be signed cheaply after coming off a tough 2024 season defined by injuries. Dallas doesn't need a heavy level of investment to dramatically change their ceiling.

Chubb's running style is the exact type of punishing attack that Zeke Elliott brought when he was at his best in Dallas. This fully unlocked Dak Prescott and had the Cowboys the best version of the team we've seen in the last decade. Perhaps Chubb is at the end of the road, and this is an impossibility. However, Dallas needs to pay very little to find out, with the hope that perhaps Chubb is the final missing piece.
