The Philadelphia Eagles won their first Super Bowl in franchise history causing owner and general manager Jerry Jones to lose sleep. I suggest changing his ways or buying a better pillow.

As the Dallas Cowboys sat home and watched the hated Philadelphia Eagles win Super Bowl LII, owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the muffled voice you have been hearing is me screaming over not being here and seeing Philadelphia.

Ole Jerral Wayne Jones (his birth name) is experiencing what Cowboys Nation has experienced over the last two decades, constantly crying in our pillows as other football teams won Super Bowl after Super Bowl.

Heck, we’ve been crying and stressing so long that some of us have lost all of our hair because of it, including yours truly. But Jerry better get used to crying into his pillow because unless he fixes some things in his beloved organization, he’s going to watch his rival continue to win Super Bowls.

In reality, Jerry should be very concerned about the Eagles moving forward. He should be beyond concerned because the Eagles are a legitimate football team that’s going to be hard to beat in the future.

Jerry is wondering how in the hell did Pederson transform a backup into a Super Bowl winning quarterback? Also, Jerry is wondering why couldn’t Jason Garrett and his staff do the same thing with Dak Prescott? (Rookie of the Year and13-3 record). Dak is the one with the brighter future. Right?

The Eagles coaching staff

Jerry will never admit the real reason why he’s crying in his pillow like a new born baby. But the main reason for Jerry’s frustration is in the manner of how the Eagles won three playoff games en route to their first Super Bowl victory.

The Eagles beat the Atlanta Falcons, Minnesota Vikings, and New England Patriots with a former starting quarterback who had seen his best days as an NFL quarterback.

Nick Foles was known as a one-season wonder when he threw for 27 touchdowns and three interceptions in 2013, winning the NFC East and going to the playoffs.

After getting traded and playing for the then St. Louis Rams and Kansas City Chiefs, Foles was relegated to backup status. There was nothing special about Foles to say the least.

After starting quarterback Carson Wentz was loss for the season with a torn ACL-and watching Foles lackluster performances afterwards-the Eagles were picked to lose every single game in the playoffs.

Instead of panicking, head coach Doug Pederson and his staff made some changes and adapted the playbook to fit Foles’ strengths, maximizing on them to the fullest extent. The quarterback play of Foles in the regular season seems like a distant memory compared to the play that shredded Bill Belichick’s defense.

Jerry is wondering how in the hell did Pederson transform a backup into a Super Bowl winning quarterback? Also, Jerry is wondering why couldn’t Jason Garrett and his staff do the same thing with Dak Prescott? (Rookie of the Year and 13-3 record). Dak is the one with the brighter future. Right?

Another reason Jerry is scared is because Philly loss other key players to injury, like future Hall of Famer Jason Peters, third down specialist Darren Sproles, and linebacker Jordan Hicks.

Including Wentz, Philly lost three starters who were significant pieces to the team and still found a way to win the Super Bowl.

More from Dallas Cowboys

That’s coaching! That’s an organization that drafted for depth purposes and paid for decent free agents like wide receivers Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith.  Jeffery and Smith played a significant role during Philly’s playoff run, especially Jeffery, who constantly made big plays and scored touchdowns.

Jerry realizes that whenever the Cowboys are without All Pro tackle Tyron Smith and Sean Lee, not only does Dallas lose games, but they have no capable backups and the team looks awful in the process.

Jerry should continue to be concerned because Philly put a mirror up to the Cowboys face and showed them their true colors.

Those colors show a below average franchise stuck in 1995 with a clapping coach and egotistical owner.

So keep crying Jerry because Philly won its first Super Bowl and will continue to win them as long as you’re okay with mediocrity.
