ARLINGTON, TX – NOVEMBER 5: The Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders perform as the Cowboys play the Kansas City Chiefs at AT /

In this mock draft simulation, the Dallas Cowboys find their X-factor on both sides of the ball and even discover a couple late-round sleepers along the way.

The Dallas Cowboys have plenty of needs this offseason. Lucky for them their needs are manageable and options are attainable. With Stephen Jones committed to the typical offseason strategy of building through the draft, Dallas will look for starting-quality players on Day 2 and even Day 3.

As always, we will run this mock draft through Fanspeak’s mock draft simulator. It’s one thing for us to hope players fall, it’s another thing to actually have them fall. As such, I was inevitably disappointed when a handful of my favorite players were picked right in front of me.

For scouting, I leaned on the film at draftbreakdown.com, Lance Zierlein’s work at NFL.com, and Walter Football. Through these resources I have ever-evolving opinions on players as more film is watched and test scores come in from Pro Days and the NFL Combine.

But with all of that said, I felt very fortunate in this 7-round mock draft simulation, and felt I took advantage of few advantageous situations while filling undeniable needs in the process.

Here at Sport DFW we try to release a new mock draft every week. To catch up, check out these past mock drafts which have Dallas selecting a receiver, a defensive tackle, and even a safety on Day 1:
