Training camp is roughly two weeks away and Dallas Cowboys will get that first taste of football since their home playoff loss to the 49ers. Much has happened between then and now and in training camp, anything can happen.

We’ve run through a few 53-man roster predictions this offseason (post-draft, post-minicamp,  the All-potential roster), and now we’ll take a stab at this from a new angle entirely…

In this 53-man roster prediction we project who the Dallas Cowboys will keep if they are focused primarily on the 2022 season.

Instead of building a roster with a mix of project players and ready-now players, we put extra weight on the players that help them win RIGHT NOW. This is the opposite of what we did with the “All-Potential” team that focused on developmental players and high-ceiling prospects. We want players that can help win NOW.

Dallas Cowboys Special Teams (3)

Jonathan Garibay, Brian Anger, Jake McQuaide

This is going to fall the same way no matter how we tailor the focus. The Dallas Cowboys only have a few realistic options and these three have both the highest ceilings AND the highest floors.

Garibay may be a rookie but with Greg Zuerlein gone, there isn’t a safer option. He has a monster leg and is coming off a great college season. Punter Brian Anger is the best in the biz and a reliable veteran, and the same can be said for long snapper Jake McQuaide.

Not much to discuss on special teams at all…
