It's been two weeks now for the Dallas Cowboys in Oxnard, California, and it's been a week of watching a football-focused team get out in pads to make blocks and tackles. We've seen a few injuries in the second week, but that's to be expected.

The only serious injury was to tight end Princeton Fant, who suffered an ACL and a partial MCL tear. He was waived, opening up a spot for UDFA Michael Trigg to make his mark. P.J. Locke and Jaishawn Barham have also suffered minor injuries, but not serious ones. DeMarvion Overshown and Tyler Guyton are also dealing with minor injuries.

All of this hard-hitting has been paying off, especially for rookie Caleb Downs, who highlights our three players who stood out in the second week of training camp.

1. Caleb Downs

Caleb Downs has been in on a lot of the action, breaking up passes and taking some licks, but that's what happens when the pads come on.

He got his first 'Welcome to the NFL' moment when he took a hit from Tyler Smith as he was challenging the run. Downs was alright, but it looked like a real collision.

He's been in on amazing pass coverage, blocking out Ryan Flournoy as the ball was behind him and the pass was incomplete. There was one play where KaVontae Turpin got the best of him (h/t Jon Machota), but hey, we all can't be perfect.

2. Cobie Durant

Let's keep it going with the pass coverage, shall we?

Cobie Durant has been having the time of his life on the field this week. As the Cowboys were in scoring position, Dak Prescott threw a pass into late double coverage that was picked off by Durant (h/t Patrik Walker).

There was another play where he went downfield to make a play on a deep ball against Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

Durant is an undersized cornerback who doesn't care about who he's going up against. He's making plays, and he's no doubt a starting cornerback in Week 1. He had five interceptions last season. Why not do it again?

3. Tyler Guyton

The starting left tackle has been one of the biggest questions, and while Brian Schottenheimer isn't 100 percent on Guyton yet, it's looking more like it's his spot to lose.

A few days ago, he made a strong block against Quinnen Williams, a defensive tackle who was just ranked the best in the game.

There still could be something brewing at the position with Nate Thomas, but don't count on it. There's clearly an improvement in Guyton in this clip, but there's still work to do.
