The Dallas Cowboys may not ultimately be active at the NFL trade deadline as Jerry Jones has stated that no roster moves will be made before the November 5 deadline, but it ain't over 'til it's over...

The Cowboys, just like every team in the NFL, are dealing with a variety of different struggles leading into the end of the month of October and into the start of November. The Cowboys took a massive loss at the hands of the Detroit Lions into their bye week this past week and are looking to come out with renewed focus.

But the bye week might not be able to cure some of the potentially fatal flaws for this Cowboys team. How could they address those issues with realistic trade ideas?

3 realistic trade ideas for the Dallas Cowboys in 2024

1. A Panthers running back

The Carolina Panthers are 1-6 heading into Week 8 action and you obviously assume that regardless of what their record ends up being in the next couple of weeks, this is a team that will be "selling" at the NFL trade deadline.

The Panthers have one of the NFL's best-kept secrets in running back Chuba Hubbard, who has been a Cowboy before...At college as a member of the Oklahoma State program. Hubbard is averaging over five yards per carry this year, he's in a contract year, he's just 25, and he looks like someone who could draw a lot of interest around the league.

The Panthers gave Miles Sanders a big-money contract in free agency this offseason and they also used premium NFL Draft capital on Texas running back Jonathan Brooks, who is making his way back to the field from injury. They could really maximize value for Hubbard, who might bolt next year in free agency anyway. The Cowboys would probably happily oblige whatever the Panthers are asking for as their running game has been bordering on miserable.
